Firefox questions

How can I transfer firefox settings from one computer to another?

I just bought a new computer and would like the same settings I have on my other computer. How do I go about doing this? The one thing I want to change in firefox on my new computer is when I type a website in the address bar I would like it to show my history instead of my bookmarks. I changed it before but I can’t remember what I did.

  1. You have to re-install Firefox on the new computer and configure your settings then.

  2. I’ll assume you’re using Windows.

For XP, copy the folder C:Documents and Settings(username)Application DataMozillaFirefox Profiles(somefolder.default) to the same directory in the new computer.

For Vista, the directory is C:UsersAppDataRoaming MozillaFirefoxProfiles
